The Week, 19-25 Jan
Not much has been happening. Didn't do any visiting this Eid. Just went to the aunts house for lunch. Sis was here from LUMS. A friend was down from lahore. Hung out, went to rainbow to buy CDS, shopkeepers kept offering us porn :p
Had the NTU(NBS) interview. I guess i have a 50-50 chance. Will know by next week. Keeping my fingers crossed. The weather's been great the last couple of days, cooled down, finally feels like winter. Hope it lasts a bit.

"...A recent disease that has swept the land is called Papi Chulo, 'sung' by some Latin chick called Lorna. Admittedly, a new wave of liberalism, openness and random idiocy is engulfing the local media scene, no doubt being fuelled by overtures to push the envelop of good taste a little further that are making their way into Pakistani living rooms via cable. It is all over the place. The suggestive tune (with a bassline that sounds suspiciously like Bootsy Collins' buttah-smooth riff from early Nineties' Deelite hit Groove is in the Heart) is blaring out of radio sets courtesy our growing brood of FM stations, out of car stereos, at mehndis and at kids' birthdays parties. Now I am no moral crusader, but for parents who enjoy seeing their eight-year old bounce up-and-down to the racy beat, take a gander at what the Spanish lyrics roughly translate as: You want the [mmm] You like the [mmm] Ill bring you the [mmm] And Lorna to you love the [mmm] How rich the [mmm] Taste-y [mmm] You will love the [mmm] Virgen women "lose your hair" like the barbarian says, hair hair hair.

Its 1 am and there is this freakin wedding going on across the street and they r playing all sorts of blarin music loud enough for all of DHA to hear...WTF...its freakin insane....and that bloody Papi Chulo song i freakin hate it anyways...and no one dare tell them anything since i'm sure its some freakin generals house ... &%*#$^@ ... WTF!!!! ... and whats with all the moaning and groaning man...it sounds so freakin obscene
Near Death Experience
I reached the venue of the valima just as the dinner got served, wished the bride and groom, met a couple of friends, served myself, found a place to sit and was happily munching away when suddenly....i couldn't breath, i was sitting there choking, and i'm thinking, don't make a scene, don't make a scene...wtf...i'm about to choke to death and i'm thinking about not making a scene, and i'm like i need a Heimlich Maneuver, but no thats gonna be so embarrassing, i never imagined myself being on the receiving end of one it was always the other way around and i was supposed to be the hero, this is not the way its supposed to happen, can u believe it...so i'm sitting there trying to be as inconspicuous as possible and these images from movies where ppl needed a Heimlich maneuver going through my head and i've probably turned blue by now due to lack of oxygen when my body reacts with this extremely loud and unpleasant sounding cough or something of that sort and at that moment i wished i was dead, i could just feel the eyes on me and wanted to make myself invisible, so i look up from my plate after a while and this aunty sitting across me is looking at me, not sure whether it was a concerned look or what is this guy up to look. Anyways it was one hell of an experience and guys do learn the
Heimlich Maneuver.

Chocolate cake & vanilla ice cream
Went to KBC for brunch today, the food was delicious, especially the chocolate cake with the vanilla ice cream...mmm, reminded me of the christmas lunches i used to have there every year with my cousins when they were around. Good Days.
Get Over It
yesterday i found out something which i can't seem to get over...the friend who i was refering to in the last post...well he and his wife initially met in an online community...at first i just couldn't believe it and thought he's pulling my leg but it turns out its true...anyways i wish them all the best and may they have a happy and blessed life together
Getting old
Went to a friend's dholki last night, met quite a few school buddies and their wives, friends' weddings make me feel so old :p and the whitening of the hair doesn't help either. Got back at 1am and had to rush to the airport at 5am to pick up an aunt, it really sucks being the only young adult male around in the family :p...almost ran over a man sleep walking across the road...hey go ahead and kill yourself if u want but don't make me do it...anyways planning a crabbing trip with the gang sometime soon, that should be fun

Happy New Year
Here i go, been thinking of starting a blog since a while but never got around to it, with new year and all thought its a good time to start.
There are a couple of things i want to achieve this years lets see how far i succeed. Want to clear my CFA level one exam in June and get into a B-school for my MBA. Have sent in my apps to NUS and NTU. As for the CFA exam, started my prep a week back.
