Sentosa
Went to Sentosa today and in a moment of insanity decided to swim across to this island near Siloso Beach which you can see in the pic instead of just walking across the bridge and it was raining so not an ideal time to go for a swim in the ocean. Started off fine and half way through this voice in my head goes, what the fuck r u doing this is the god damn ocean u r in, not your swimming pool, u r gonna drown. By that time i began to tire and started swimming faster. 20 meters from shore i was exhausted and thinking so this is it, this is how i'm gonna die, where is my hot Baywatch style life guard. Then i thought may be i'm close enough to stop so that’s exactly what i did and....oops, i couldn't reach the freakin' ocean bed. After that I have no idea how i managed to get movin’ again because once u lose the momentum to start again especially when u r already exhausted and there is no floor to kick off from its quite tough, Anyways some how i managed to reach the other end completely out of breath, collapsed on the beach for about 15 mins or so and then decided to walk back across the bridge, enough adventure for one day.
Another first
Went to the theatre tonight, first time in Singapore. The ticket cost $11.50 and a large pop corn and a drink cost $8.50 which I think is a rip off. The movie we saw was "Must Love Dogs", the ending was kinda **blah** but liked the humour in the film.
So near yet so far
The other day I got off at the bus stop near my house and it started pouring so I was stuck there for about 10 mins even though my place is less then 2 mins away. Its just before the church you see in the pic, convenient isn't it :)
Watch Me Change
www.watchmechange.comI avoid posting links to other sites in my posts but this one is just too good. Its a promotional site for GAP.
Turned 27 yesterday. Don't remember cutting a cake with candles and all during the last 10 years. Next year will probably get some balloons and stuff too.
Orientation Week
Orientation week, organized by the MBA Club, ended today.
First day, after registration, there was a treasure hunt to help us get acquainted with the campus. By the way our group won and we got a free bag :)
Next morning I went and applied for my student pass which was processed in a few hours. Went straight to the bank from there and opened my account.
The following two days we had workshops organized by the Career Service Office. Except for one they were all quite interesting. Especially the one on the
MBTI. It turns out I'm an
ISTJ. On the
third night we also had a dinner with the faculty at the
Kent Ridge Guild House and the
Dean of the Business School ended up sitting at our table.
The last two days we spent at
NACLI where we took part in team building activities which was great fun. After our team building activities on the first day at
NACLI we walked down to a local pub near by and had a blast.
Class start from next week and we already have a reading assignment. Its good to start off with a long weekend though, Monday I have no classes and Tuesday is a public holiday due to
National Day.
I also got my phone connection during the week along with my new handphone, the
Nokia 6230i :)
